MAMA SHELTER, ISTANBUL

It doesn’t matter If you’re a hip local or a curious tourist, Mama Shelter is everybody’s new favorite place. Located in the heart of the city, İstiklal Street, Mama Shelter definitely is a fresh breath for everyone. Designed by a genius, Philippe Starck, it is consisted of a hotel and a restaurant/bar. Well, I’m going to tell you all about the restaurant and the bar. 

First of all, I have to say that unfortunately in İstanbul, If a place gets too popular, it becomes banal and blasé. But in this case, I don’t think it will ever get blasé because they have equalized the formula that no one can get right, ‘can’t keep my feet still’ music + ‘finger licking good’ food +’ fill it up again,please’ drinks= AMAZEBALLS. I’m sorry to sound so cheesy but I haven’t been this excited for a place in such long time.  I will start with the music which is the most important aspect for me. With their resident DJ’s Mr. Strangé (have to say, my favorite) (https://www.facebook.com/misterstrange), Gazali and Ekin Ergök, the best DJs in the town, you are going to start shaking your head and moving your upper body while eating your delicious Muratta Pizza. When your done eating your ‘Caramalised White Chocolate Mousse’,  you won’t even realize that your feet are making their way to the bar area to dance the night away with i-don’t-remember-how-many-glasses of ‘Mama Loves You’, a special.

I should give you a warning, it is always full! So make sure to have your reservation ready as early as you can. I hope you enjoy Mama, as much as I do and don’t forget to toast for me with your first drink!
